Voice Your Opinions About the Price of Oil
« Thread Started on May 25, 2007, 7:43pm »

Do you think that the oil companies are making a killing getting the money from everyday Americans? Is the price of gas (especially during the Memorial Day Holiday) gouging out of house and home? Talk about here. Voice your concerns about how oil affects of all. Talk about the state of the gas prices in America!

And yes, bring up your conspiracy theories about oil in this topic because we need to open this conversation wide up. :)

Oh god... where to begin?

Well, for one, I've seen the price of gasoline rise from the mid-two dollars, to a good deal above three in a matter of days.

That right there shows that there is NO respect for the average American. They can raise and drop prices as they see fit, because the price of oil doesn't really fluctuate all that much... at least not enough to see a sharp rise of 50 cents in one week.

It's simple really, more people drive in the summer. More people driving means more gas consumption. More gas consumptions means higher prices by the these price gouging profiteers.

Capitalism's claim to fame is that competition drives the price. This is true. But, what if the competition are working in conjunction with one another?

What you get is an oligopoly, which basically forces every working man, women, and child to bend over their hood and take it like a man... so to speak.

Anyways, just my two cents.
