It is very sad to report that early this morning, I had heard on the news that the eldest daughter (and first child) of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King has passed away in Santa Monica, California. The news is still relatively new, but during the day there will be more to say about this. But, here is the blurb from news station, WJXT: There should be no question why she is a historical figure. She stood with her mother at the Dr. Rev. King's future. She also helped run the museum in Atlanta. And, she became a minister in her own right as well as a person who was highly involved in different programs over the years. And of course, she is one of the "four little children" that Rev. Dr. King mentioned in the most famous line of his "I have a Dream speech". I wondered many times what she and her siblings have thought about the legacy of civil rights today after the assasination of their father. If you have any thoughts about her passing, please do post them. I'd like to hear other thoughts.

I do have to question her importance, however. Aside from being the daughter Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
But, importance aside, it's always a shame when younger people die (let's face it, 51 is pretty young today).
