Have you wondered where the old welcome table went? Did you have problems with trying to access your personal messages?
I thank gemwolf for bringing up this pertinent issue because it was something that I was trying to figure out in restructuring the board.
And now (drum roll please) we have a solution!
Thanks to the coding genius of Ross and Xylish, we have a Personal Message table that neatly fits under the regular menu of the forum! Instead of scrolling down to the Info table to check your mail, you can conveniently click on the icons to take you right to your personal messages.
I have tried it out and it works well. But, if you have any suggestions or questions about the new PM table, please do not hesitate to bring it up here. We'll try to fix it so that it becomes more accessible and user-friendly.
Being a long time forum poster, I know first hand how bothersome it is when one cannot get to their personal messages. And, as an Administrator, I will strive to make things nice for everyone on the board so that they can have a beneficial and wonderful experience here at Ceci's News and Views.
So, please continue to post suggestions and concerns if you have them. I listen and take them into account.
Take care,
The Ceci's News and Views Staff

I don't see it? Yesterday at one stage I saw a new table below the banner - but it's gone now? I.e. I don't see the new message table?

It should be there. Oh dear. Let me get back to the drawing board and see what's going on. Update: I've changed the default skin. The default skin is the one with the personal message table. It should work in the majority of browsers. If not, tell me so. We'll see what we can do.

Although there are some boards that are only for staff (like the Mission Statements and Helpful Rules section), the rest of the boards should be okay to start a thread in. Which board were you trying to start a thread? To send messages, you can go to the "Private Messages Panel" and click on "New Messages". It should open up a text box in which you can write your note. Or, you can click on the "Members" icon and find a list of members. You can click on the particular name on the list. Then, a text box will open with the Addressee's name already there. If it helps any, when you start a thread, a sure indicator is to look at the board you would like to post in and see the icon "new thread". Click on the"new thread" icon. Then, you can make a new thread on that board. However, to make a thread, reply and message on the board, you have to make it thirty words or more for it to be posted. That is to eliminate the "one line" posts that sometimes people make. Otherwise, there aren't any restrictions in your account. You should be free to make threads. If there is anything else, I will check it out and see what's the matter. Thank you for telling me. We'll get to the bottom of this! Take care, Ceci

Sometimes, what happens to me is that the "post reply" button freezes. When that happens, I simply refresh (or reload) the screen and then click post. That does the trick in some aspects.
Otherwise, did you pay attention to the word count at the bottom of the text box? Are you sure that your post is over thirty words?

Let me ask everyone: Do all of you guys have this problem?

I think the problem may be the character limit. When I first posted I thought that I couldn't post anything either.... Until I typed a longer reply/post. And ta-da the post button became "enabled".
Edit: Oops, I see the "topic" is a bit old. I take it it was resolved then? Ceci, perhaps a clearer indication that you need to type X amount of characters before you can post something? Also, I understand why you implemented the system, but it looks like it can easily be circumvented by the Quickpost...
